Whole Orange and Goji Berry Hot Cross Buns (Grain-free, Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Nut-free, Refined Sugar-free)

Happy Easter! Having never been a huge fan of anything other than the smell of standard hot cross buns I have finally found a version I enjoy - hurrah!

Paleo Maki Rolls aka Sushi

I have been the target of a terrible attack!

Egg Fried Cauli-Rice

Egg fried rice was one of the first meals I ever learnt to cook so it is only fitting that I still make it - albeit in a Paleo incarnation.

As with any fried rice the meat can be substituted with whatever cooked meat is to hand.

Beetroot Banana Cocoa Cake

Ahead of my 4 year old starting school I worried about a great many things at length - how he would make friends, would he like his teacher, could he be trusted to wash his hands properly after going to the toilet, how damaging to his self esteem would it be sitting next to a boy with photographic memory. You get the idea.

What I completely failed to register was the potential threat to his dietary well-being.

Bone Marrow Broth and Vegetable Soup

It was only a matter of time before I caved into the Paleo peer pressure of bone broth consumption!

For months I have been using Great Lakes gelatin in my Nutribullets but the time has arrived. Throughout my childhood and teenage years and even now, whenever I visit my parents or grandparents, I am always presented with bone broth in some guise - chicken with red dates and goji berries well before they became a fashionable superfood, pork bones with a host of obscure roots, like wai san etc.

Orange and Cashew Chicken Baby Gem Boats

The first daffodil in our garden poked its head out this weekend. Spring is here. Brighter mornings, sunnier skies and uplifted moods.

Time to scale back slightly on stodgy stews and roll out a few lighter meals.

Coconut Almond Crumbed Chicken

Some evenings all I want is a simple, speedy but still healthy and tasty supper.
It takes less time than perusing a takeout menu, phoning to order, then waiting for delivery. No wasted packaging or unnecessary fuel on the delivery. Best of all, no unknown or unwanted ingredients lurking unseen!

Whole Orange and Butternut Squash Breakfast Muffins

Growing up, we were the sort of family who used all elements of a vegetable, fruit or meat in our meals.

From the eyeballs of the fish to the feet on the chicken and the more mundane broccoli stalks (why only eat the florets?), nothing was off limits.
